Doing it All Over Again…

CoriSteve Nash Still Dishes them Out

by Corianne Egan

Steve Nash is known for a couple things. He is old. Canadian, and white in the NBA… and he is an assist master. There have been songs written about it, pop culture references, and most of the NBA acknowledges it. He just has a knack for feeding people the ball.

That’s why last night’s preformance wasn’t all too surprising. Nash had 18 points, but 20 assists and three takeaways forSteve Nash the Suns. The NBA record in a game is thirty, and even though this was ten away from that, it was the best assist performance in years.

The Suns were miserable last season. They had all of the potential and none of the killer instinct. People gave up on the team, their fans gave up on Nash. He wasn’t slowing down, just adjusting to the different style of a revolving door of coaches. He could still shoot those famous threes, and even had shot 90% from the free throw line.

Maybe it’s not time to give up on the Suns. Just because Shaq is gone doesn’t mean that is no hope. Yes, they are in a tough division. Yes, they are in a tough Conference and yes, he is aging, but Steve Nash can win games. Steve Nash can still beat half of the NBA down the court. Steve Nash still has it.
